Robert Flynn is an accomplished strategic executive with international and domestic experience across business, government, and not-for-profit environments. Key among his strengths is identifying, analyzing, and resolving challenges and pursuing opportunities faced by organizations. Mr. Flynn is a Principal at Fuld + Company, providing strategic advice and counsel to Global Fortune 500 leaders on issues relating to risk management and strategy.
He manages the firm’s marketing, sales, and communications disciplines and drives engagements across numerous industries, leading teams to advance client interests. In corporate leadership roles, Mr. Flynn managed marketing operations at Travelers, serving as Interim Corporate Chief Marketing Officer and as Special Assistant to the President. He was the founding Executive Director of the Connecticut Governor’s Insurance and Financial Services Cluster, a CEO-level corporate collaboration to market the Governor’s plans to expand that industry base.
He led business development at Mellon Bank’s asset allocation subsidiary, and interfaced with rating agencies on behalf of Aetna Financial Services. At Deloitte Consulting, Mr. Flynn sold and managed risk management and strategic planning engagements with Fortune 1000 firms in diverse industries. Mr. Flynn spent thirteen years as an intelligence officer at the Central Intelligence Agency.
He served as liaison between the CIA and other federal agencies regarding national security issues, and conducted worldwide risk assessments of U.S. operations. He was assigned as U.S. representative to the United Nations and the International Atomic Energy Agency and served as Chief of Base in the Middle East, leading a then unprecedented international intelligence office. He earned CIA and UN commendations for his leadership on issues related to the Persian Gulf.
Mr. Flynn earned his Master of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut, graduating with Highest Honors distinction, Beta Gamma Sigma, and earned a Master of Arts degree in International Affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
Mr. Flynn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. He is a published author in a variety of industry and trade journals and serves on several community Boards of Directors.
